We’re thrilled to reveal that @cucamarasband, @shadybabyband, @oslo_twins and @wonderbugband will play Hidden Herd at @thehopeandruin on Wednesday 29th January 🔥 Nottingham indie/post-punk quartet Cucamaras have been described by @readdork as “a band stamping their authority on the next wave of alternative guitar music.” Featured in the @nmemagazine 100 in 2023, they’ve gained countless spins on @bbcradio1 and @bbc6music, who championed their latest EP, ‘Buck Rogers Time’. On the back of the release, the band established themselves as a live force across the UK and Europe too, playing festivals such as @greatescapefest, @reeperbahn_festival and @esns.nl. They’ve also previously supported the likes of @sundarakarma, @theamazons and @hotelluxband, as well as selling out headline shows in Nottingham, London, Paris and Barcelona. We’re overjoyed to share that @heavy.wild, @alphabet_alphabetalphabet, @quakingaspensmusic and @weakdayweakday will play Hidden Herd at @thehopeandruin on Wednesday 12th February 🔥 Since arriving on the UK scene in summer 2023, heavy wild have quickly gained attention with a string of impressive singles and a captivating live show. The band’s sound veers between the dreamy, grungy synth-rock of The Jesus and Mary Chain and the gothic, lo-fi post punk of Joy Division, while also echoing atmospheric contemporaries like @beachfossilsnyc and @wildnothing. Fronted by Wolfgang Harte - a co-founder of indie favourites @swimdeepbaby - the trio have already amassed hundreds of thousands of Spotify streams and caught the ears of tastemakers at @clashmagazine and @notion. Brighton’s @freddiejwatts & The Hot Rocks will play Hidden Herd x @crafting_room Recordings at @theprincealbertbrighton on Thursday 9th January alongside @catbandcat and @lelambband 🔥 Freddie J Watts has been championed by @stilllisteningmagazine as a “collision of Nick Cave’s gothic allure, Lou Reed’s grimy romanticism and Johnny Cash’s steadfast, salt-of-the-earth wisdom”. Here to lasso your ears with their psych country cowboy rock, the Brighton-based alt-folk artist recently released their cinematic debut EP, ‘At Every Turn’, via @strongislandrecordings (@losbitchos, @uglyofficialuk, @rosiealena). The EP’s glam-tinged lead single ‘Entwined’, featuring contributions from @ellaoonarussell (@anona_music) and @ninawinderlind of @the_new_eves, earned praise from @themostradicalist and beyond. We’re excited to unveil that @cordeliagartside, @ashainewhite and @rottweiler.band will play Hidden Herd x @crafting_room at @theprincealbertbrighton on Thursday 20th February 🔥 Self-described as “creep rock”, Cordelia Gartside crafts post-rock-inspired songs that blend reflective lyrics with atmospheric and cathartic sonic backdrops. Across 2023 and 2024, she released a series of captivating singles that earned her airplay on @bbc6music and @bbcintroducing - including support from @empilbeam, who featured her on The BBC Introducing Mixtape and said “Cordelia’s voice really gets me… stoked to see what’ll come next”, and @melitadennett who was left “stunned” after her mesmerising BBC Introducing Live Lounge performance. With her band, Cordelia delivers immersive live shows that have drawn comparisons to icons like PJ Harvey, Patti Smith and Radiohead, and she’s built an enviable reputation for herself on the live scene in Brighton, London and beyond. In 2023, she was also invited to play @glastofest, after reaching the finals of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition alongside the likes of @prima__queen, @vlure.gla and @captain.ezweee. Liverpool gothic alt-pop trio @the_dsm_iv will co-headline the next Hidden Herd All-Dayer at @greendoorstore on Saturday 1st March 🔥 THE DSM IV, formed by Guy McKnight of critically acclaimed cult favourites @eightiesmatchboxblinedisaster, blend noise-rock, synth-pop and industrial elements to deliver a unique musical experience. Their powerful soundscapes are both cacophonous and epic, featuring rich textures, melodic hooks and thought-provoking lyrics that entertain while encouraging introspection. After releasing a series of stand-alone singles and touring with @sleaford_mods, @thelibertines and @dreamwife, the band unveiled their formidable, uncompromising debut album, ‘NEW AGE PARANOIA’, in 2023 - recorded at @thealbionroomsmargate, the HQ of The Libertines.
