A peek at Michael Sheen’s Prince Andrew for ‘A Very Royal Scandal’ on @primevideo @thehollyedwards Given certain constraints that made the use of prosthetics unfeasible, we embraced this approach, exploring numerous alternatives which could get us closer to Prince Andrew, including crafting eye bags, jowls and crow’s feet using various ageing techniques and grey thinning wig @wigsbypeterowen (and @samuel_james_wigs_ ). The whole look was brought together with the help of Andrew’s teeth by the fantastic @fangsfx 👏🏻 Thank you @j9s8 for looking after Michael and @samjden - Makeup Supervisor . A Very Royal Scandal - a peek into the Makeup and Hair Design @amazonprime Lots of factors came into play whilst designing Ruth Wilson’s look as Emily Maitlis. Many mood boards were made of Emily to fine tune the hair colour, eye colour, face shape, makeup and even Emily’s signature nails. @officiallymaitlis was so generous in providing insight into her look and details which we were able bring to life in the show, including the use of her infamous bright pink rollers and actual products she’s used day to day which we adhered to where possible for authenticity. The infamous Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew was key in my design for Ruth. The interview is well renowned around the world, as is Emily’s look. It was important to recreate it as closely as possible, whilst still making sure it suited Ruth and her features and so there were some minor adjustments. @samuel_james_wigs_ made our beautiful wig for Ruth and we made sure to accurately detail Emily’s darker roots and golden tones. @samjden cut and shaped to suit Ruth and to bring it to life so beautifully. As Ruth naturally has piercing blue eyes, Ruth and I played around with some coloured contacts from @eyeworks_for_film and found the perfect chocolate brown shade to match Emily. Once the lenses were in, Emily was truly born and the whole look really came together. @brankamakeup looked after Ruth throughout and nailed Emily’s statement makeup so beautifully.
