On Friday night, the winner of the Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award 2024 was awarded to Merilyn Fairskye for the work Focus infinity III (4.47am, 11 May 2024, Maralinga village). Fairskye's work is based on the global impact of the nuclear project and focuses on nuclear testing at Maralinga Village. This award was announced by guest judge Chris Saines CNZM, Director of the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). The works of the 32 finalists are now on display at HOTA Gallery. Open from 10am-4pm daily. Free entry.
