Janice Szeto and Jian DeLeon love so many people that it took two weddings to capture it all. In New York, they gathered with friends at @jeanslafayette to recall the fun, lighthearted nights they’d spent at places like China Chalet. In Manila, the couple married in an elegant church wedding that honored their families and shared heritage. Quick trip to Chicago to celebrate 15 years of @rsvpgallery, thanks so much for having me and can’t wait to see the new location. Not enough words in one caption to fully encapsulate the influence Virgil and Don had from Bucktown the world, but as someone who started his career writing about the snakeskin Just Don snapbacks and the first Pyrex collection it’s wild to see how they’ve inspired new generations of kids to dream bigger. Was also great to see @louisdeguzman’s new Sonic exhibit!

We also hosted a panel talking all things motorsport and menswear with F1 legend @davidcoulthardtf1 and stylist @griztriz

A couple of book projects from this year! (Currently have something else I’ve been chipping away at in the works too…) 1) Street Style: Dr. Martens published by @studiobooks and edited by @frankiejonesbooks. A fun pocket-sized compendium on all things DMs, thanks to @d_dot_mckoy and @naughtykarate for all the help. Dropped at the same time as a Nike book by @imgerald. 2) Giant Robot: 30 Years of Asian American Pop Culture published by @drawnandquarterly. Immensely honored to have been asked to write the intro for the fashion section of this book, which contains the legendary interview with @jennyshimizu! @giantrobot is up there with @massappeal and @thefader as the Gen-X born magazines that got me interested in subcultural journalism, and having a byline in that hall of fame is incredibly edifying. 3) Stone Island: Storia (Revised & Updated) published by @rizzolibooks and edited by @eugenerabkin. A truly comprehensive tome about one of the world’s best brands, featuring an essay I wrote about how Stoney incepted its way into American street fashion via British style arbitrage—not every day you get to mention Liam Gallagher and Lethal Bizzle on the same page.
