Performing my piece ‘Ruminations’ with @maeroney …always bringing her beautiful and generous playing! @thomaskuklenski on the page turns 🤘since I couldn’t condense the music in time 🤪 What would I do without wonderful friends like that and @karaarena for allowing me space in HER SET to stand up there for a few minutes! . This was in early January of this year and this show sparked an ember within me to write new material and get back to playing. The rest of that month and now year has had different plans but I remain (mostly) undeterred.

Hard at work on a score for a particularly fun ancient project! Showing my audio students the joys of live acoustic recording. Elise, Mindy and Audrey brought so much energy and professionalism to the score that is hard to put into words…that’s why it’s in the music! Dan and Ken did an impeccable job engineering the session and made this whole experience feel like it was one big family. Thankful to have wonderful people entertain my far out ideas 😌 🥹 and students who put up with my ramblings 🤪 who then help out immensely. Sharing more soon in all its immersive glory!

Missing you extra hard today… Happy Birthday Dad and rest easy. Had a good ride today and I know you were there with me 🏍️ . . . There’s a thousand things I want to call and tell you about. New experiences feel stale and worn. I know you set us all up to handle this world with grace but what about all the new things and new questions!? As tough as things get, I’m lucky to have years of lessons, stories, jokes and, of course, guitars to get me through. It’s all because of you and mom ♥️
