2017 was an insane year for music videos, so went back into the vaults to feature one with one of the more interesting visual techniques — KYLE - iSpy Ft. Lil Yachty.
The Colin Tilley directed music video leans primarily on a scale-shift technique to create bobblehead-like kid versions of Yachty and KYLE albeit with their adult heads. It’s a trippy visual that took over the internet when it dropped in 2017.
1. Scale shift (bobblehead)
2. Two shot + Scale shift
3. Profile shot > slit scan > scale shift
4. Scale shift medium
5. Trucking + scale shift > fixed cam (see-saw)
6. Fixed cam (see-saw)
7. Wide scale shift two shot
8. Central framing scale shift two shot
9. Profile + forced perspective > scale shift
10. Central framing two shot + scale shift
