Rhythm Warehouse - All Styles/ Freestyle Champion 🏆 This jam happened the day before Ladies of Hip Hop and I had SO much fun! Good people, good music. Some favorite moments were Hustling with my friends in the 2nd room, going outside to prance to really good House music, and @rnindy using her tripod to help me get back my lost ball (thank you again!). Ladies of Hip Hop 2024 - Waacking Champion! 🏆 I'm grateful. I am grateful I had many rounds to be seen, to be challenged, to co-create moments, and to tap into different parts of myself. It feels scary every single time, but it felt so empowering to decide to step into my courage instead. It felt full circle. People around me from when I started. @kumarisuraj - Nostalgia, 2016. My first ever Waacking battle. The spaces for workshops and gatherings you held. You helped me believe I could Waack/Whack. Thank you for judging and for being one of my first teachers. @princesslockerooo - You judged that Nostalgia and it was my first time meeting you, learning from you! I remember taking your workshop and going back home to drill everything I learned from you. Thank you for being there to witness on that stage and also for being one of my first teachers. @stylophonicdoll - Lockerooo's battle in the summer of 2016. The Waack Down! It was my first time flying out of town for dance and seeing your fire and you take the W that night inspired me. I'll never stop bringing this up to you because you made a huge impact on me. Thank you for always putting your whole heart on the dance floor. No one out there does it like you and makes us feel like the way you make us feel when you dance. @akumadivaxtrava - B1tch! I love you. Thank you for smiling, crying, snapping for me. When you came up to me after the battle, I felt the genuine joy you had for me and it meant an immense amount. Thank you for getting my arms together and for being a very impactful teacher. I've been influenced, inspired by many more people I haven't named and I want to continue to name them. I started dancing because it brought me an undeniable joy and whenever I danced, I started believing more in my voice and story. It makes me feel free, especially when we're collectively dancing at the clubs/ dance parties. I wouldn't be here without my community and the people who came before me that paved the way.
