For me, print making has always been a 50-50 partner in an image. There’s something meditative about working with paper in a tray, watching the image take on a new life—revealing layers that may not have been visible in the original photograph. Platinum Palladium printing takes this to an entirely different level. Coating handmade paper with rich metal chemistry transforms a photograph into a three-dimensional object, elevating it into something truly extraordinary. Drew is my very favorite and every time we meet, I leave a better person than before. There’s an innocence about her that can’t really be explained but comes from deep within. My first session with Leo was 30 years ago celebrating his role in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.” You couldn’t deny the obvious fact that this young actor was nothing short of amazing. We spent 3-4 hours trying a bunch of portraits and ideas… And we landed on an abundance of riches. Undeniably one of the greatest artists of this time and it’s nice to know he’s still the same Leo I met way back when. Happy Birthday my friend.
