“It was about 6 months after Shaun died that I hit rock bottom. I sat on my kitchen floor rocking, crying, struggling to breathe.
I called the Mind Infoline. I wanted to talk to someone who didn't know anything, so I could be really honest about how I was feeling.
The person I spoke to on the phone was welcoming. I felt so comfortable and not judged at all. The support meant that I felt like I could start to move on with my life.
Mind is a place for me to go to no matter how I'm feeling. I know that I can go to the Infoline, or the website and find support, whether for myself or for someone else.”
Sammiie and her boys lost husband and father Shaun to suicide. This time of year shines a light on the people who aren’t here – but should be. This Christmas, can you help us be there for more people like Sammiie? Donate at the link in our bio 💙

We're over the moon to hear Wes Streeting say he's committed to the Mental Health Investment Standard (MHIS) earlier today 🎉
The MHIS is so important. It makes sure local mental health services get their fair share of funding.
We've still got lots of work to do in 2025 to improve mental health services and bring down waiting lists, but this is a brilliant note to end the year on.
Drop us a 💙 in the comments if you're as relieved by this news as we are.

It's okay to say no 💙
Thanks @mattzhaig for letting us share this reminder.
[Alt text: December doesn't change your brain. If it isn't made for an overload of parties, alcohol, food and socialising it's ok to say no to stuff. There is nothing festive about burnout.]

We’re hearing that the Mental Health Investment Standard isn’t going anywhere. But we’re still waiting for confirmation.
Thank you so much to all of you who rallied this week and made your voices heard. Together we are powerful ✊

@keirstarmer and @wesstreeting, this message is for you 👀
There are 2 million people on waiting lists for mental health support. If you scrap the Mental Health Investment Standard (MHIS), it will mean local mental health services get even less funding. Waiting lists would get even longer. It would be a devastating step backwards for mental health.
Please like, save and SHARE this video and make sure Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting see the message. Help us make sure the UK government doesn’t make a catastrophic mistake.

It’s okay if you’re finding this time of year difficult. You’re not alone.
Mae'n iawn os ydych chi'n ei ffeindio hi'n anodd yn ystod yr adeg hon o'r flwyddyn. Nid ydych chi ar ben eich hun.
Diolch @sketchy_welsh for this gorgeous illustration 💙

6 February 2025 is #TimeToTalk Day, the nation’s biggest mental health conversation.
This Time to Talk Day, we want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health. Text a friend, chat to a colleague over a cuppa, go for walk with a loved one or share something on social - there’s no right or wrong way to do it.
Hit the link in our bio to find out how you can take part.

@keirstarmer and @wesstreeting are set to make some big decisions about NHS priorities and how money is going to be spent. We’re worried they could remove the Mental Health Investment Standard (MHIS) which guarantees a certain amount of funding for mental health services at a local level in England.
This decision would be a devastating step backwards. People with mental health problems and those waiting to get help will lose out. We can't let this happen.
We’re doing as much as we can behind the scenes but we need your help too:

Mental health already doesn’t get its fair share of funding. This will make things even worse.
We can’t afford to lose funding for mental health services when there are already 2 million people on waiting lists for mental health support.
Please do what you can to help us show how catastrophic this decision would be.
