Hey it’s @hayleyemwall an artist & illustrator represented by @thisis_jelly ✨
For the final image, I Photoshopped my face in a warped way onto the figure. I’ve hid behind my work for years, so to put my own face on this figure felt important. It was like, ‘I’m unmasking now. I’m showing myself. I’m allowing myself to actually come through. This is me.’
It’s been an absolute pleasure sharing my work here, thank you @motherlondon !!!

I am a neurodivergent artist, which is something that shapes my work. As much as my work is about telling other people’s stories they often resonate with my own and so at times the work feels very personal.
This is a series that explores my neurodivergent diagnoses as an adult. Because this piece was so personal to my experience, I really wanted to place myself in the work. It was a three-part series: before, during and after diagnosis

This is a project is an exploration of rail travel from the perspectives of people with lived experience of D/deafness, disability and neurodivergence. I created this contemporary railway poster installation with augmented-reality (AR) experience titled Shifting Landscapes.
I am really enjoying exploring AR and its potential to make illustration more interactive, immersive, and accessible.

My work carries a feeling of movement. Movement, and in particular, dance inspires me. I grew up training as a dancer which brought me so much joy and I still find the potential to incorporate this into my work. I love how movement can be conveyed through a still image; how a single gesture or pose can evoke a specific feeling. I feel that my illustrations are a moment of a piece of movement I have choreographed.

I’m often complimented on my use of texture. Throughout my illustrations I incorporate my background in traditional illustration processes and print-making, creating handmade textures and loose drawings, exploring the intersection between traditional and digital media. I playfully blend tactile mark-making techniques with digital tools. Blurring the lines between the physical and digital - keeping a rawness alive.
This piece is about love potions 💜💚

At its core my practice is about telling stories. Within my editorial works I embrace topics which I have lived experience of. Therefore, when I have to handle difficult topics and communicate the stories of others I find ways to do so sensitively, authentically and from a place of integrity. I aim to help people feel visible, connected and hopeful through my images.
This illustration is about journeying through the body in search of acceptance, love and a sense of home.
