Can Art Save Democracy? Today is #NationalVoterRegistrationDay ~ and we are excited to formally announce our partnership with @movementvoterfund that launched earlier this summer. Register to vote or check your registration at vote.org! Alongside this year’s Republican and Democratic National Conventions, we installed billboards by @hankwillisthomas and @carriemaeweems in Milwaukee and Chicago respectively. Over the coming weeks, For Freedoms and Movement Voter Fund will install 8 more anti-partisan billboards and hold a series of artist-led town halls in key states across the country ~ all exploring urgent issues on the ballot this November including Reproductive Freedom and Climate Change. Together, we ask: How can we tap into the creative power of artists and cultural workers to catalyze unprecedented voter turnout, to tell stories that resonate across arbitrary national boundaries? Can we position our leaders to transform policy by harnessing the power of the arts to elevate issues people care about? Can art save democracy? #WhereDoWeGoFromHere?
