In 1904, the genocide of the Herero and Nama by the German colonial power in South West Africa began.
Hinavandu, a young Herero, finds herself in a collection center after fleeing the genocide. There the fugitives celebrate the end of the war and wait for the day when the Germans will pick them up and bring them back to their villages. Hinavandu dares to hope again. But on the day of her departure, she realizes that they will not be brought home.
