@nyupb , @dka_nyu , and @gallatinfilm , in collaboration with @neonrated , are hosting a free, exclusive advanced screening of THE END, followed by a Q&A with Academy Award-nominated director Joshua Oppenheimer. Join us on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30pm at the Angelika Film Center!
Twenty-five years after environmental collapse left the Earth uninhabitable, Mother (Tilda Swinton), Father (Michael Shannon) and Son (George MacKay) are confined to their palatial bunker, where they struggle to maintain hope and a sense of normalcy by clinging to the rituals of daily life—until the arrival of a stranger, Girl (Moses Ingram), upends their happy routine. Son, a naïve twenty-something who has never seen the outside world, is fascinated by the newcomer, and suddenly the delicate bonds of blind optimism that have held this wealthy clan together begin to fray. As tensions rise, their seemingly idyllic existence starts to crumble, with long-repressed feelings of remorse and resentment threatening to destroy the family’s delicate balance. But their reckoning with difficult truths also points to a different way forward, one based on acceptance, love, and a capacity for change.
RSVP at the Google Form link in our bio! You will receive email confirmation of your seat, or if you’ve been added to a waitlist. This event is open to current NYU students only, and seating is first-come, first-served.

@nyupb and @nyupersianculturalsociety, in collaboration with @neonrated, are hosting a free, exclusive advanced screening and Q&A of Mohammad Rasoulof’s “The Seed of the Sacred Fig.” The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director. Join us at Film Forum (209 W Houston Street) on Thursday, November 21 at 5:30pm!
Shot entirely in secret, Mohammad Rasoulof’s award-winning thriller centers on a family thrust into the public eye when Iman is appointed as an investigating judge in Tehran. As political unrest erupts in the streets, Iman realizes that his job is even more dangerous than expected, making him increasingly paranoid and distrustful, even of his own wife Najmeh and daughters Sana and Rezvan.
RSVP at the Google Form link in our bio! You will receive email confirmation of your seat, or if you’ve been added to a waitlist. This event is open to current NYU students only, and seating is first-come, first-served. NYU Engage Event Passes will be scanned upon arrival.
