Hello! I wrote a new EP called Chicken Garaage and it’s out today on @kapselarecords. :) It’s my first new release in 2 years, and the first original material on my own label. Two tracks, serving two different angles on 00s breakbeat, bass music and proto-dubstep. Chicken Garaage is one of the more fun and earworm-y tunes I’ve written, named after the takeaway chicken karaage I was eating when I first sketched it out; Worm Dance on the flip is moody and twisted, named after the adorable crotcheted worm that @hundi___ made me to celebrate the launch of my clubnight, Wormhole. Chicken Garaage is also the first fruit borne of a new creative workflow I’ve been trying out recently which might, optimistically, just maybe, enable me to release music a tiny bit faster in the future. Happy to share the recording from my ambient/downtempo set at WHOLE Festival last August 🥰 I played from 11am-2pm as part of @ccl_url’s Liquidtime takeover and spent really special and memorable 3 hours perched on a sofa playing weird, gloopy, tense, soothing, fun and occasionally very silly music for a zonked-out cuddle puddle of cute queerdos seeking refuge in the morning hours from an otherwise turbo festival environment. There’s a generous number of old favourites of mine in here, some serious moments and some entertaining ones, not to mention a cameo from the first CD I ever bought (definitely not ambient, arguably not exactly downtempo either – see if you can spot it lol).
