In 2022 @lizinkekruger and I had the pleasure of meeting and creating her brainchild “Gister se Stof” her and my very first short film. This project is so special and has been many years in the making - I’m so excited to finally share it. I have nothing but wonderful memories from this experience and I really learned so much making it. As Lizinke said, it took a village to make this short film and I couldn’t be more thankful to each and everyone involved. Special mention needs to go out to @zootee_studios for sponsoring the gear for this project and for the constant support and investment in my career - I appreciate all you’ve done for me. To @fc_smith_ who has been with me since our film school days, thank you for saying yes to this crazy idea and coming along for this wild and wonderful ride. There’s no party like a Nine Four after party 🥵

🏅Cape Town Marathon 2024 🏅 Where to even begin!? Cape Town Marathon wasn’t just Sunday, Cape Town Marathon for me started on March 1st 2024 when I bought my entry. At that point I had only just run my first 21.1km and I was inspired to see what else I could achieve. My 12 week training program started in France, then moved to Malta, and Madrid and even a small town called De Aar in the Northern Cape. Needless to say it’s been a journey. 2 weeks before CTM I got sick, really sick, antibiotics sick. I hadn’t missed a training run until this point and it really was a massive mental challenge not running for 2 weeks. At this point I wasn’t sure if I was even going to make it to the starting line. I mentally made peace with the fact that CTM 2024 wasn’t going to happen for me. By Friday though, I could somewhat breathe again and my heart rate had remained stable, so I thought, if I make it through the Saturday shakeout alive, why not try running Sunday? My goals had drastically changed from a Sub 4h Marathon with an average pace of 5mins 30seconds to just getting over the finish line, but when I stood on that start line at 6:30am on Sunday morning I knew I wouldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t try. So I went for it and it was hard, from the start it was a hard run. But I was aiming for a Sub 4h and up until 37km I kept my pace of 5mins 30second average or less per km. The wheels came off after that, I hit my wall after the Cheer Zone - but I knew I could make it if I just didn’t stop running, so as I watched my pace slowly decrease I knew I’d set myself up for success either way and I am beyond happy with finishing with a time of 03:58:49. Without my crew @theninefour I wouldn’t have gotten to 37km and without my Mom, @lucwriter I wouldn’t have gotten to the finish. Without my girls, who ran and cheered and inspire me every day, @lexi_frame @ali_mcdonald_ @erin_groll @nthabimaine @emiliebadenhorst @hanajaynesho @micaelagillion @kel.christine @jessistheworst @nomonde_gee @georgena_s @lisacapetown @__viiwe I wouldn’t have gotten through this training block and over the line. It takes a village to run a Marathon - thank you to my village! ❤️
