Deepa Iyer’s Social Change Ecosystem Map - and the associated workbook she released through @buildingmovementproject - is a transformative tool that’s changed the way I approach facilitation and community organizing in my work both inside and outside of Red Emma’s. So when we learned that @deepaviyer was creating a children’s book to introduce these social movement roles to young audiences, I knew we had to host an event! This Sunday, 12/15, Deepa brings an interactive ecosystem mapping workshop and book reading for kids aged 4-7 to our @baltimorefreeschool and I’ll be there front and center with my kiddo, who fancies himself the official children’s bookseller of Red Emma’s. So come out with all the littles in your life! And grab a copy of We Are the Builders for them, and a copy of “Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection” for yourself!
