Re-Edition Magazine AW24 #ISSUE22 out now @noomirapace wears @alexandermcqueen Photographs by @juergentellerstudio creative partner @doviledrizyte Shot in Lithuania by Juergen Teller featuring Noomi Rapace wearing McQueen by Sean McGirr’s 1st Collection for the house. “We travelled to Dovile’s hometown in Lithuania, Kaunas, and just shot in these unreal places. One location was this old bar, which the owner has helmed for decades. She was serving homemade food and giving us shots of vodka, which I couldn’t drink because I was shooting! It felt like I was in a Rainer Werner Fassbinder movie — it was so cinematic, almost like time-travelling. Also since we were in Dovile’s hometown, meeting her parents and the like, it was a story that just felt really organic, personal and raw. And funnily enough, Lithuania really reminds me of where I grew up. It’s kind of like a mix of Iceland and Sweden, which really enhanced that personal feeling. Shooting in the Lithuanian forest, I was really reminded of the fact that the banshees Séan was inspired by are almost like sisters to Swedish folkloric creatures — ‘huldra’ – who are these female forest creatures that are dangerous, seductive, playful and primal, but contain a lot of rage. That really came out in the bigger pieces, especially in the context we were in.
