Officially Mr. & Mrs. Windell 🎉❤️
We were more excited about starting our marriage than about planning a big, traditional wedding so we went with the simple & fun approach! A simple ceremony, with the focus being just the two of us and God. Then eventually, we’ll have a fun party to celebrate with our family & friends.
We’re so grateful to everyone for the outpouring of love and celebration over the past few weeks! We treasure our friendship with each of you!
And special thanks to @chrissyrynveld for officiating with the most meaningful message (along with hair & makeup!) and @jessicalynn_photo for capturing it so beautifully. God’s hand was in every little detail of this day and we are in newlywed bliss 🥰 …yes, we even had dolphins make a special appearance right after we said “I do” 😍

Crazy news. Chicago: America’s Hidden War, a doc feature I DP’ed is being considered for an Oscar nomination in the Best Documentary Feature category. We sincerely hope the film is chosen–the death toll in Chicago continues to rise at a staggering rate. Our mission was to turn apathy into empathy through education and exposure, so Americans will not see this is as Chicago's war, but as "Our War." https://vimeo.com/506208779

Thankful for all the hard work, new friends, lessons learned and the few gray hairs that I gained from the making of this short film. Couldn’t have done it without each and every person that poured out their time and talents and lost hours of sleep. This labor of love has led to opportunities I never would have thought possible.

Last one from our shoot this past week. Forgot how fun it is to create with no expectations.

Having to slow down this week in humility as I spend the majority of it glued to a wheel chair. It’s easy to get in the habit of trying to do everything yourself, but much harder to abandon pride. Leaning into the strength of those around you in the midst of weakness leads to greatness. Just remember to smile, be thankful and pay it forward and backward.
