@hartjapan 2nd edition has landed! 🛬
I’m incredibly inspired by the artistry of my fellow hairdressers from Japan 🇯🇵 and other Asian countries. Their dedication to creating authentic, natural hairstyles without wigs or hairpieces is truly admirable.
It’s all about enhancing the model’s beauty with hair that feels like it belongs.

The Beauty in Silver ___ Celebrating the Journey of Greying Hair
As our hair begins its natural transition, from rich tones to silver and grey, it tells a story…a narrative of time, growth, and individuality. Rather than viewing this change as something to be masked, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the graceful evolution that comes with age.
Greying hair offers a unique texture and depth, creating natural highlights that no salon could ever replicate.
With the right haircut, these shades can be accentuated, transforming what some see as a sign of aging into a statement of confidence and sophistication.
By embracing this shift, we allow our true beauty to shine through, free from societal pressures to conform.
Greying hair doesn’t signify loss but rather a gain…a gain of character, strength, and a new kind of vibrance that’s distinctly our own.
Through skilled techniques, the natural flow and contrast of greying hair can be enhanced, allowing its full beauty to unfold. It’s not just about accepting the change, but about elevating it, turning something natural into something breathtaking.

Embracing the Elegance of Natural Hair Transformation
In every strand that loses melanin, a new chapter unfolds…a transition of color that speaks of wisdom, experience, and beauty. As our hair naturally evolves, silver and grey tones emerge, creating a stunning contrast that also deserves to be embraced, not hidden.
This transformation is not a loss but a powerful shift that can be celebrated through thoughtful haircuts and styles.
By enhancing the natural texture and flow, we can allow these beautiful tones to shine even more vibrantly. Rather than covering up this natural progression, let’s work with it, using techniques that complement the richness and depth of greying hair.
There is strength and grace in the organic evolution of our hair. It reflects the journey we’ve been on, and through the right haircut and care, it can become a statement of elegance…one that showcases the uniqueness of natural beauty at every stage of life.

The Simple Square Bob is a classic hairstyle characterized by its clean lines and geometric shape. It offers a modern yet timeless look that can be tailored to suit various hair types and personal styles. This hairstyle can be a great option for your friend, providing a polished and sophisticated appearance. It’s versatile and easy to maintain, making it ideal for everyday wear.
Regular trims are essential to keep the bob looking fresh and sharp. Encourage your guests to schedule appointments every 6-8 weeks.

Good fun creating this test reel to showcase @sashokremich.hair ‘s hairdressing talent. As a videographer, I would love to work with creative people, like Sasho, as clients to promote their entrepreneurial endeavours and already established businesses. I’m currently building up my portfolio and am willing to do some pro bono work 🙌
As a filmmaker, I know that there is a lot of transferrable skills in ‘video graphing’ something - light, camera, editing. What engages us is never purely informative, but emotive too, especially when you’re pointing a camera at something that engages you as a camera person (or maybe only then!) I’ll bring my filmmaker’s sensibilities (and some lovely lenses) to everything I do, or rather we do together. Email in bio ✉️
As for my enthusiasm for craftsmanship, I believe creativity can rein in everything we do. It’s great when people can be passionate and creative in their paid work (which doesn’t have to be in ‘creative media’) It would also be great if the economic reality was more conducive to that 🤭 Living in an expensive city like London, it’s hard to sustain yourself doing exclusively what you love. It’s also not easy for entrepreneurs and freelancers to sell products or services at ‘reasonable’ prices when their own rent and expenses are high.
At least, as customers, we can appreciate craftsmanship and dedication and vote with our ££ buying things and services that are worth it. There is just a bob (haircut) and there is ‘le bob’, if you know what I mean 💇♀️✨I’d love to shine light and point the camera to people making and doing (and selling!) something great. Join us at Material Matters fair during London Design Festival between 18 - 21 September 2024.
Locally Grown is an interactive installation that invites visitors to explore their hair as a new material with great potential.
The project is led by @studiosannevisser , a material design research studio and leading voice in the development of human hair as a super scaleable regenerative material.
This exhibition evolves from the original Locally Grown project launched at the Design Museum in 2022 and is now further developed at the HairCycle recycling hub in Stratford. Since February 2024, the HairCycle team has collected hair from local salons and barbershops in Newham, transforming it into local, bio-based materials, diverting waste from landfills.
The installation offers a chance to experience the full journey from fibre to product through live hair cuts, spinning, ropemaking demonstrations and an exhibition of design objects.
Studio Sanne Visser have invited nine other studios with a like-minded approach to regenerative and circular design, to collaborate on a series of unique objects that incorporates the studio’s hair yarn, cord and rope.
Helen Kirkum Studio, Lauren MacDonald, Mia Rodney, Rein Reitsma, Tŷ Syml, Wilkinson & Rivera, R-Urban, Urban Radicals and Biocrafted x Coral Gardeners have applied the hair rope into a broad range of products, from fertilisers for local parks to high-quality interior design, fashion and architecture objects.
The exhibition is supported by The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is co-curated by Company, Place, an organisation who specialise in a bio-regional approach to arts commissioning.
