BTS of Material Sounds: Live Session, Vol. 24 - Satsuhki - One For Me BTS Photos: @luciahoneyxo overall credits can be found on my performance vid on @materialinstitute's page I just wanted to share some of the prep and BTS that went into this live performance video. It was my first official performance and first time being on a set. I'm so thankful for the staff and crew for making the experience not only comfortable but fun! Sometimes as an independent artist it's easy to forgot how much is actually put into the things you do/create to get to the end product. I put hours in practicing, at the Material Institute practicing, at home, on my lunch breaks, etc. to make sure the result came out perfect (and it did!) This is also came down to throwing an idea for a custom dress at my best friend @nubiana.a last minute, and coming up with an idea and doing my own hair/makeup a few hours prior to make sure the message in the song translates visually as well as sonically. Also shoutout to instagram for letting my post 10+ pics on a post now, if it were up to me I'd share a whole file of my BTS 😂 If you haven't watched the video yet again, it's out now! Last week I performed at @thesaturnbar and it was truly such an amazing experience! 🤩 I'm learning something new every time about the art of performance and am so grateful to be able to practice my skills in such a welcoming crowd and space. Material Institute Showcase Post 2 of 2 Thank you to everyone at the @materialinstitute that aided in making me a better and more confident artist today, to those that came and danced to my songs, to my friends and family for getting footage and encouraging me to get this far. Material Institute Showcase Post 1 of 2 (because instagram hates horizontal and vertical cropping) So, on May 18th I performed in a showcase alongside my 5 other members of this year's cohort for the @materialinstitute, this was my first live performance in life and one of my biggest fears 🙏🏽. This has been a year of so many firsts for me involving my journey with music and I'm so grateful to have been a part of this experience for the past 9 months. I couldn't have done this without the support I had behind the scenes either from the words I'd hear to keep going from those close to me. Thank you to everyone there in person and in spirit and that's supported me so far this is only the beginning 🌟
