Bodipa is a dynamic production and DJ duo comprising @levilove77 and @stalloneenollats. Their name, derived from the South African Setswana language, loosely translates to “Deepness,” reflecting their deep-rooted love for Deep House music. Tomorrow marks our final Friday of broadcasting for the year - you’re in luck however as we’ve got a full day of broadcasting. We’ve even managed to squeeze in a show from @sasha_shuttleworth, live from 12pm. For the final episode of GIANT LOVER’S Lighthouse of 2024 lock in to hear Sasha’s interview with Will from @c0smicsl0p. In this conversation, recorded in Cosmic Slop’s home venue Hope House they cover Slop’s role as a fundraising party for MAP, Cosmic Slops’ recent campaign to halt residential buildings that threaten to impact their operations, and their new venture Cosmic Slop Record’s, which already features donations from @fourtetkieran and @mrs_cruff Sasha will also be joined by the wonderful @tesni___. The solo project of Eve Hancock, Tesni is a Welsh singer-songwriter based in Manchester whose work presents an introspective lens on stories of love, longing, and self-assurance. She’s kindly stopping in for a live session, playing tracks from her self titled debut EP. Today we've got Leeds' @inthewindow___ in the studio for a three hour takeover! @freddie.noonan is kicking things off now before @conornewmarch takes over at 2pm with some percussive, atmospheric acid tunes. Our very own @levilove77 and @stalloneenollats are up at 3-4, playing under the BODIPA alias. "BODIPA is a Tswana word that actually has an unpleasant meaning. Usually a person is called BODIPA when they are like Elon Musk, pompous, disrespectful and just a knobhead basically. However, I like the word because the ‘dip’ sound of the word is loosely Deep. I don’t think there is anyone I know that loves and breathes Deep House like the two of us. I think James Greenwood is probably the only guy who is absolutely dedicated to the cause like us. So the loose reference to Deep is absolutely representing. And the prefix - Bo if used with other words it lends ownership. For example, if you are called easy then you add -Bo like in Boeazy it changes the meaning of easy and it now means the art of being easy. So BODIPA means the art of deepness. The ceremony. Dish Selector is headed to Ireland at 1pm: "A spiritual journey back to my roots along the Coast Road of Ulster - to the gorgeous county of Donegal and back to Belfast for a night out. It's that time of the (bi)month again, we're back in the @soup_manchester bar on Thursday with a selection of lovely residents dropping lovely selections from 6pm thru til 2am. @tomhalliwell_ , @muziiswaks , @_abby.harris and @jessrosauk on the tunes! Kicking things off at 6 is teepee h, a DJ and 1/2 of Manchester-based promotion duo @seamus.presents . He also heads up the 'Between Stillness' show here on steam, focused on moving through the tempos and exploring a wide variety of electronic sub genres. Expect similar vibes from the off! Following on at 8pm is @muziiswaks , who hosts the MAMELA show on steam on a Sunday afternoon. Muziiswaks draws inspiration from all corners of the globe, expect everything from the soulful sounds of amapiano or heavy hitting GQOM to the groovy dance beats of Batida and Kuduro. Next up on the 10pm til midnight is @_abby.harris , host of the Rhythmic Resonance show. After establishing herself on the north-east party scene, Abby recently relocated to Manchester and has quickly caught attention with her energetic, deep and varied sets. And finally, closing things out from midnight til 2am is Jess Rose! A creator of @chicmcr , curated to centre marginalised people in the UK and Brazil, Jess has played the likes of São Paulo carnival and MIF and always brings a plethora of high energy sounds. Expect everything from classic UK dance to latin and afro influenced flows and percs. Free entry all night as usual, good vibes and good tunes. Also a heads up that our good pals @rubberworksmcr are running tunes in the downstairs club the same night. Plenty of steam residents to be found all over the soup building all night, you better catch them all.

Today we've got a couple of takeovers in the afternoon, before we zoom on over to @talleyrandmcr to broadcast from @levy_downlow tonight. First up — Beat Detective & Benno, co-founders of Liverpool record label and events crew @conduit_sound , are taking control of the airwaves at 3pm for 2 hours of jazz, broken & deep influenced tunes. Good tunes for kicking your Saturday afternoon into gear. Another takeover follows straight on from that, with @shikarim78 making a welcome return and taking things in a jazzy disco and housey direction across a 2hr vinyl mix up til 7pm. At this point we'll be taking a little break and braving the shite weather to set up shop at @talleyrandmcr in Levensulme, from where we'll be broadcasting late into the early hours. Levy Down Low have invited the lovely @melt_my_heartz up from London, purveyors of open minded, doored and hearted parties with an ear for all things disco, dub, bruk, house, bassy electronic tackle and global sounds from all the corners.
