Japan part one.

What an epic trip. Getting the chance to travel with these gents was such a gift. Thanks @jordangiraffe for organizing and showing us all parts of Japan we would never normally see.

1. Omotesando (I think) graffiti.
2. Dog looking down in judgement from a second story window (Tokyo).
3. Day drunks dance on a Golden-gai morning.
4. The legendary @grifpalmer at Shinobazu Pond.
5. The incredible @wozme_butoh
6. Shinto priest Miyake Kohsuke at Yoga Jinja.
7. Me standing in front of a wall I have no use for at Meiji Jingu.
8. Night at Fushimi Inari Taisha is the way to experience it, Kyoto.
9. Tamano Keirin velodrome. Uno, Japan.
10. A long line waiting to take their obligatory Kusama Instagram post, Teshima.

All shots by me (cept the one I'm in of course).

More to come...

Grateful for my experience at the @americanfilminstitute , the support of the faculty and my peers (whom I look forward to working with for a loooong time to come), the support of my family, partner, and friends as I went thru this process.

If you had asked me a few years back if I thought film school was a good idea I probably would have said no way. But one stir-crazy night in New York I snuck out of my pre-gig quarantine, wandering the city aimlessly. I found myself walking past NYU totally by accident, and later that night i stumbled upon a film shoot.

I’d been really lucky up to that point in my career. I’d worked with incredible artists, coupled with the best producers and technicians in the live event world. It was all really amazing. But i was being reminded that my passion really lived with narrative films.

AFI was the only program that made sense for me because it’s so focused. I was able to direct a lot. I really feel like I learned a ton, both from the program and from my fellows.

I’m so grateful for this experience and I can’t wait for what’s to come.

So great to see @crossesmusic back and at it again.

Back in 2014 @chinowmoreno & @shaunlopez were the some of the first musicians to give me a real shot. Every cool gig I had was direct result of them taking a chance on me. I'll always be grateful for that.

Plus, they are just fucking cool and make great music.
