Happy release day to @96_back !!! Our final release of 2024, 'tender, exit' is out today and available now over on our bandcamp or your preferred digital platform. Limited vinyl landing imminently, preorders open. 96 Back will be performing the album live alongside LINTD @sickoflintd and terrashotta on the 13th December at @m3_7lw as part of our collaboration with Unsound @unsoundfestival ----- For his sixth @96_back LP, Evan Majumdar-Swift found himself writing “a long form eulogy” to his years living in Manchester while preparing for an imminent move to London. Initially intended as a series of technical exercises, which saw the artist radically stripping back his established production setup, over the last two years tender, exit gradually took on the form of an emotional landscape, mapped in transit between two cities. “The overarching concept of the record is cycles, recognising them, loving them, and tearing yourself away from them,” he says. Heard together, the project takes on the pace and cadence of a passionate conversation with a loved one. On Friday, Dec 13, Unsound is teaming up with @svbkvlt to present a night at The White Hotel (@m3_7lw) in Manchester. 🔥 The stacked line-up features a live performances by ∈Y∋ – founder of seminal Japanese rock band BOREDOMS – with visuals from Cosmic Lab’s C.O.L.O; Icelandic genre-bending trio sideproject (@siiiiideproject); UK-based producer 96 Back (@96_back) with his new album “tender, exit”; as well as the 2K88 (@2k88synu), playing in the wake of his Unsound-released LP “SHAME” and a recent Unsound NY appearance. SAT. 23.11 KLUB SVBKVLT Label Night [Shanghai] w/ Hyph11E [Londres/Shanghai] (dj set) + Itaho [Sxb] (dj set) + SOTE [Téhéran] (live) + Swimful [Londres/Shanghai] (dj set) electro et musique club futuriste Hyph11E, productrice chinoise, est à l'avant-garde d'une nouvelle génération d'artistes à Shanghai, fer de lance du mouvement de la musique club en Chine. L'EP Vanishing Cinema a été publié sur le label shanghaïen SVBKVLT et met en avant les basses et se caractérise par une conception sonore sombre et redoutable, associée à des rythmes de club percutants et est un signal stimulant de la scène émergente et vibrante des clubs de Shanghai. Ata Ebtekar, plus connu sous le nom de Sote, est un compositeur de musique électronique et un artiste sonore basé à Téhéran. Son amour des sons et des textures riches s'incarne dans différentes formes d'expression, telles que les sons de club hardcore, les collaborations alliant instrumentation acoustique et électronique (traditionnelle) et la musique électronique expérimentale en solo, ce qui fait d'Ebtekar un artiste aussi à l'aise dans les salles de concert que dans les galeries d'art ou les clubs. Au cours des trois dernières décennies, il a publié sur des labels tels que Warp, Diagonal, SVBKVLT, Sub Rosa, Morphine et Opal Tapes. Swimful a fait ses armes dans la salle désormais légendaire de Shanghai, The Shelter, et son son a été façonné dans la scène des clubs de la ville au sein du crew émergent SVBKVLT. Soutenu par le collectif britannique Boxed, Swimful a sorti son premier album sur SVBKVLT, PM2.5, en 2016. Entre-temps, la production pour les chanteurs s'est poursuivie, affinant les bords de cloud rap béats qui ont commencé lorsque Swimful produisait des morceaux pour Lil B et Main Attrakionz alors qu'il était encore à l'école. Itaho est une musicienne issue de l'expérimental et ex-batteuse de jazz, elle fait ses armes sur la scène rave et les milieux underground. Sensible à une plasticité du son, elle construit un univers musical vaste mais toujours percussif.
