In honor of Small Business Saturday, and inspired by fellow small biz owner, @shopsoftcore, we’d like to introduce ourselves and share a little background on ourselves and our business. We know you have a lot of places you can spend your money, so we appreciate every dollar you spend with us & wanted to share a little about who we are. The Plus Bus Boutique is co-owned by Marcy Guevara-Prete (me) & Jen Wilder. We have both been plus size since we were young and were desperate to fill the major void we found in fashion. I began my career in plus-size fashion as an on camera host & Jen as a designer. We banded together in 2015 to create a community in Los Angeles of #plussize babes who wanted to look and feel fabulous. We opened our doors in 2016 and have hosted countless brands and events over the last eight years. In 2020, we moved our boutique to York Blvd and to the world wide web, meeting many more of you online and IRL. Jen is a mother of two and strives to raise her children in a world where they understand that all bodies are good and that the only weight to lose is the weight of fat hate. I’m a millennial wife & dog mom whose dream is to create community by sharing closets around the world 🌎 (and making it a TV show). Together we’re a super duo of action and creativity who hope that The Plus Bus continues to grow and reach as many fat people as possible. We believe that every fat person deserves to express their personal style and have a place to commune and shop! We created The Plus Bus because nothing like it existed. As more opportunities for plus size community and fashion arise, we hope to bridge the gaps and continue to be the epicenter of all things fat and fab in Los Angeles.
