First solo set at @thelotradio 🌪️ I had this whole set planned out and then changed it all after playing w/ @sterlingjuandiaz at @paragonbroadway the night before 🫣 I slowed things way down and kept it locked at about 125 bpm pretty much the whole time. Played some new and unreleased gems from @kk_nark @miraclestew, and as always, ran the gamut from groovy to bassy, soulful to sexy. Weekend wrap up + sentimental holiday dumpcito! 🎄🌪️ Will keep this brief but in what has easily been the most challenging year of my life, I look around and have so much to be grateful for. The light feels like it’s slowly getting brighter as I continue to wade through this long and windy tunnel of grief. Thank you to my support system of friends new and old, bookers and colleagues who continue to believe in my dreams, and my beautiful boyfriend who I couldn’t have made it through this year without. @perla_cdmx has given me a creative outlet to focus on music that I believe has the power to heal. Leading with that intention and sharing the experience with @sylvieforet has been both challenging and so rewarding. We come back together again to do the dance tonight, with a lineup I’ve only dreamt of until now. Surreal moment opening for @disclosure in Mexico City last weekend ❤️‍🔥 Like many people my age, they were my entry point to house music. Settle along with their first EPs marked a shift in the way that I consume music—I had their 2012 boiler room set b2b with Skream on loop 😮‍💨 they were my earliest example of this combination of really bassy, soulful and sexy sounds that I continue to aspire towards. It was a huge honor to open for two people who have meant so much to me over the years. We brought the wiggle 🪱🫡

I know I’ve posted about this moment ad nauseam, but please indulge me one more time 🙏 One year ago today, the Sex Shop Boys got to open for Beyoncé in the city that I grew up in. Being side by side with our friends from Mexico and my family in Dallas was the converging of all my worlds in the most special way—sharing it with Priest just made sense. Looking back at the videos, he and I are nonstop smiling and bouncing around like idiots because of the sheer amount of excitement and energy in that space. Afterwards I remember thinking that I wished I had kept my cool a little more, but I’m so happy now that all that pure joy was captured in time. So much has changed in the past year, but I’m grateful for this day and will always hold it close to my heart. Thank you Ms. Carter 💙💚
