Last month, we headed up north to visit one of our favourite people on the planet - the man, the myth, the legend - Tristan da Cunha. Tristan connected with our crew over a decade ago as an early supporter of the Funk, and it was instantly clear that he was made for our tribe. Now, we’re honoured to have him as a key player in our SlapFam, slappin’ and funkin’ with us all year round. Ahead of our show in Leeds last December, Tristan kindly invited us into his home and we got the chance to take a closer look into the makings of all things TDC, from his first experiences with underground music, to his banging record collection and his first pair of turntables, that he still has today. Smackin’ the speaker, breakin’ the beat, freakin’ the floor, however you want to call it - there’s not many out there that can do what this man can do, the way he does it. In loving memory … ❤️ Anyone who has seen me DJ will have noticed that it’s ritualistic for me to light incense while i play . I find it elevates the mood and gets me in the zone. I made these for a dear friend who sadly passed away a while ago … Nacho as we called him put the CEO in MACEOS in @block9official at Glastonbury and was so welcoming in my early years of joining the B9 family .
