This was a personal project I have been working on and just finished up. Extreme old age makeup on our mold shop supervisor @carl_lyon_ . This one was a lot of fun for me and brought me back to a style and character type that I really loved when I was little, so I fully let the inspiration of that time fuel this with nods to many makeups that I love and respect. 12 piece prosthetic makeup including tops of hands. Sculpture of all facial pieces by me, hands by @dantiri. I was able to also do a good majority of the mold work on this with the exception of the Top of head and back of neck/hump molded by @carl_lyon_ silicone castings by @s_imhoff_art and @willdaemon additional lab work by @monsterdestroyerfx seaming by @gwen_ramsey pre paint by me and hair work by @ha__rinii under the watchful eye of @sasha_camacho who also did the brows. Star Trek Picard season 3 Borg Queen. On the lovely @janeedwinamary . This was a blast for us- a really cool mutated and pushed version of the season 2 Queen reimagined and brilliantly designed by @nevillepage . We took a bit of an unorthodox approach to this makeup from a technical standpoint- basically starting in reverse. @dantiri sculpted the cowl first- in WED clay- scanned this and we then went on to sculpt all of our overlapping prosthetics from this scan- mapping out each pieces positive prior to the start of the sculpture. The cowl was foam latex, and all 5 overlapping pieces silicone. Robert Downey Jr in his 5 different looks from HBO’s The Sympathizer. Our task primarily here was to design and create 5 different looks on Robert to portray these different archetypes. This was a real collaboration with Robert himself and Director Park on how these looks evolved over my sculptural exploration. Overall there are over 16 different custom prosthetics used, as well as custom contact lenses by @eyeinkfx and a full custom wigs, mustaches, beard and chest hair headed up and tied by @sasha_camacho along with @rrodchompu @helgaboies and @robpickens Custom denture work by @theejasonjames Prosthetics applied daily by these two amazing gentlemen @chrisburgoyne and @mikemekash Wigs were cut, styled and dyed by hair dept head Katherine Kousakis and her team who also handled the daily application. The illustrious @waltongogginsbonafide in our prosthetic makeup of the Ghoul for Fallout. This was a really wonderful project that we were fortunate enough to land because of @jagar65 who also handled the monstrous application of this daily, solo, in record time tackling 9 overlapping prosthetics. The design proses on this was quite fun- Jonathan Nolan and team gave us some great notes and parameters to work within and then let us run. Myself and @dantiri started off with full size sculptures to explore these looks and once elements were chosen we did some colorized digital renders on scans of those sculptures. Daniele then sculpted out the final prosthetics and we textured them together. @carl_lyon_ headed up the molds along with @rob_freitas_ silicone prosthetics cast by @willdaemon and @s_imhoff_art who handled the majority of runs for the show. Dental artist @theejasonjames The nose was digitally removed for the show or course- we took our prosthetic right to the edge of the nasal cavity. For these photographs of our first test makeup, applied by myself and Jake I had the talented @lucanemolato do the nose removal and interior. Hamish Linklater from Manhunt as Abraham Lincoln. This was a very challenging makeup to create- but one that we were all very excited to dive into. As is most often the case with likeness work like this, we wanted to create the essence of Lincoln but not a complete copy. Some of Hamish needed to bleed through as well as nothing to hinder performance. This is from our initial test, while still dialing in the look. Applied by @imitation.of.life and @glenpgriffin along with myself. Beautiful Lace front and beard by @sasha_camacho a total of 7 prosthetics including bald pate, cheeks, nose, lower lip and chin along with ear lobes and rims. There were also vacuform pieces to push his ears out. Double stack contact lenses, to both change the color of his eyes as well as age the eyes. Huge thank you to dept head and makeup designer @robinbeauchesne for bringing us aboard to collaborate and being this to life. Monitor lizard puppet we created for Netflix’s @thebrotherssunnetflix This was modeled after a real lizard that was to be used in the show, the good boy was brought by for extensive photos and measurements to be taken. @dantiri then sculpted this based on those. The Giant mask from Netflix’s “The Brothers Sun” We were asked to design and create this in a week, so our approach was digital, with a hero 3D printed part for the final masks. Killers of the Flower moon, prosthetic makeup design and creation for Leonardo DiCaprio. We were asked by the wonderful Sian Grigg @sian.griggmakeup to step in under fast circumstances to start working out a subtle nose prosthetic for Leo, as well as pieces to push his ears out that @dunxjar had begun work on from casts we took prior. We scanned Leo @3dscanla and then printed him in house, to start the sculptural exploration. I started off with 4 different concept noses that I then applied to Leo in a series of tests, as well as varying sizes of vacuforms to push his ears out and re shape the silhouette. Teeth were brilliantly made by @fangsfx . After my initial tests @richardredlefsen stepped in to continue the testing on location untill a final nose was chosen, and then continue on with his daily application for the first 2 weeks until he had to move on to another obligation. @abaileyfx quickly stepped in to bridge the Gap for a few days before Leo’s personal makeup designer and makeup/prosthetic artist Sian Grigg was able to safely arrive and take over on his whole look for the majority of the filming after that. Shout out to @mikefontaine_ who also applied this makeup for additional photography! Sian was also instrumental in the overall design of his look, and the direction of the nose prosthetic itself as well.
