We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues. For over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture. Through it all, his work ethic, infinite curiosity, and optimism never wavered. Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design. He often said, “Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself,” believing deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations. We thank you all for your love and support, and we ask for privacy as we grieve and celebrate Virgil’s life. Virgil Abloh September 30, 1980 – November 28, 2021

the research & design side of my studio is so insular. none of it works on instagram lol. here’s a glimpse tho of the theory and premise work we do before we design that went into the @braun_global chrome’d out Wandanlage wall stereo. in the tradition of spurring on this type of design with cultural reason, it was a pleasure to partake in the @braunprize and be apart of this year’s 21st BraunPrize International Design Competition as a juror. good design has a critical role to play in addressing the problems of today and driving behavioural change, so we can have a positive impact in shaping our future and the future of this planet. my whole premise is to lift up the next generation of designers, innovators, and creative minds from non-typical trajectories. to learn more follow @braunprize @braun braun_global

was commissioned for artwork by the fine folks at @artistplateproject. the end result, my plate titled, "Life Itself," an edition of 250, to benefit @nyhomeless and their work to help homeless (not homeless but, friends in our book) and low-income individuals in NYC. Like no other sneaker, the Air Jordan 2 Low represents a piece of archival history obsessively recreated with contemporary tech and details. Discover a new chapter of Off-White™ x Jordan ~ @jumpman23 A unique crafting process was used to reverse engineer the original premium Air Jordan 2 in homage to the legendary sneaker, proudly incorporating signs of wear and tear into the design and embellishing with MJ’s signature and contemporary touches.
