It was the year of 2009, #2NE1, a group of four girls—each of a distinct identity—made their debut with ‘Fire’ and fastidiously became one of Korean pop music’s best-selling acts. Their success was followed by an abrupt disbandment, eight years of inactivity and now a comeback tour that no one saw coming. And if the quartet’s vocalist and #VogueSingapore’s December digital cover star #SandaraPark has anything to say about it, it would be that “2NE1 has always been somewhat unpredictable.” Coinciding with the group’s 15th anniversary, the tour is aptly titled Welcome Back. “Nothing was planned ahead. Including the sudden break-up, the surprise Coachella performance and the 15th anniversary concert,” the star says.
