Behind the scenes with @ysa.gb on her Britpop-inspired shoot in Manchester earlier this month. Most of you that have followed me over the years know that I very rarely shoot people in general, never mind people in “posed” styles. I learned so much from Bettina and the models, as this is a branch of photography I've never really dealt with (partly out of anxiety, and partly out of not knowing what to expect). I also got to learn about Vimto, and discovered a secret skatepark. ✨ Featuring the amazing models @ophelium__ (and their amazing cans, omg), @toothachexox and @tomwant, who braved the cold and some truly disgusting weather (drizzle/mizzle). Thank you again to all. 🙏 Experiencing a location shoot, speaking to the models and seeing the positive interactions between them and the photographer highlighted to me the importance of communication/intent in the creative space, and how it is balanced with the welfare of the models (this is key!).
