Join us October 19th for an animation workshop with @lotsagirl ✍️ Violet invites us into her process of creating animations using drawing and printmaking! During this workshop, Violet will demonstrate how she constructs “rubbings” using a flat object, which serve as single frames within a larger moving composition. Participants will then create their own rubbings using a personal object, culminating in an original animation. The workshop will take place within @ritasalt exhibition at @entrance.nyc in the Lower East Side. Participants will be given the unique opportunity to engage with and employ Rita’s ceramic sculptures as a rubbings object alongside their own. Snacks and tea will be provided. Violet is an experimental animator who utilizes multi-media practices such as printmaking, drawing, photography and collage to create her animations. Her work has been featured on Dizzy TV and in Lilypad Magazine and Snuff Magazine. She has exhibited locally in New York as well as internationally in France, the UK, Japan, and her most recent solo exhibition with Pangée in Montreal, Canada. She currently lives and works in New York City.
