I'm setting a release date for the 2nd single from the forthcoming hororhaus album DEMISE...AND RISE! for Friday, January 10th 2025 (fingers crossed). It'll be available on all digital platforms as well as BandCamp. I also have word that my guest vocal track will be out with @twicedark sometime at the end of January with my remix for the track NECROMANTIC being dropped a few weeks later in early February... Ancient My Enemy is an impressive new project by Nocturnazine’s very own Scott Harris (percussion, keys, programming) of @Hororhaus_official, together with TiTi @slutire (vocals, lyrics), and @Tommy_Grenas (guitars, bass, electronics). Their self-titled debut EP opens with a creative little intro immediately followed by the very rhythmically infectious “Pine Tar”. The tribal-esque beat and drive found within “Death Bloom” will definitely get you bouncing, and begs to be played on repeat. For me “Pit Of Darkness” best showcases their diversity in sound with so many beautiful audio shift progressions. For these reasons I also selected it as the soundtrack for this promo video. The EP closer “Born A Dog” slows things down a bit while throwing down a deliciously creepy vibe. I must also call your attention to that seriously cool logo design by LiLi! Ok - I had an awesome nite! Early I went to see Mortician/Deteriorot play at The Meadows on Bklyn (over by 1015) and I got to @redpartynyc in just enough time. And I was able to stay till 2 which was perfect. After grabbing Stromboli Pizza it took me 1:45 home. I revisited the DEMISE...AND RISE! music for the next hororhaus album and I put the finishing touches on one of the next tracks I am going to drop called DROWN. The album storyline is about a couple who lure in an innocent (or so they think) into their life (hence, the first single I dropped a bit ago, NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR leads the storyline) and do not realize the power that this person actually beholds and cross the wrong way. Sadly for them, rebirth and strength of the individual they lured in revenges them and overcomes. The real story is about dealing with adversity, people who put you down, people who thrive off seeing others fail, but in death, comes rebirth, conviction, vengeance and in the end, revenge. Karma. Sketches for the album were for the most part constructed in December 2023 and put on the back burner due to other music projects I was involved in, dealing with health issues and such, but now, I'm back and ready to get this monster finished up. It looks like DROWN will drop on all digital platforms very early January 2025 - we'll see how quickly this new album gets finalized. It's all fun and exciting, quirky as usual, but I am exploring new sounds - the album will build from what NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR sounded like into synthpop realms BUT also will be super quirky - super dark at times and will end with something that I think the final (yes, final) album with dance beats will sound like - so one more album of this sort after this and that's probably it. During all of this and after, I will continue hororhaus as an all ambient project in the style of LA PISADEIRA - soundtrack weirdness and horror themed dark synth soundscapes and realms. Thought I'd share this alternate cover for the EXCOMMUNICATION release that I did in 2022. I used VARNEY THE VAMPIRE instead for the cover - but this was a cool 2nd choice! Thanks for listening!
