Numéro Netherlands Digital presents ‘Soap Opera,’ an editorial crafted by makeup artist Anh Nguyen, who grew up in Vietnam immersed in moving pictures from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. In the ‘90s, pre-Korean cultural wave, and with the Vietnam War still a recent memory, Vietnam’s creative outlets leaned heavily on war stories and political content. Amidst this, soap operas from neighboring countries offered a source of comfort. Anh’s deep-seated fascination with historical Asian beauty, makeup, and fashion now comes to life in this captivating editorial for Numéro Netherlands.
