Celebrating 10 years of @amenthia_recordings and 5 years of @animalialabel with a very special weekender at Naarm base @miscellania_ Animalia welcomes Swiss-label Amenthia Recordings for a special, two-day “weekender” event at Miscellania on January 4 & 5. In a joint celebration of Animalia’s 5th and Amenthia’s 10th-year anniversaries, the two crews have put forth an expansive lineup that underscores their respective sonic spectrums and variance. Run by Garçon and Agonis, Amenthia is admired for its devotion to captivating and cerebral sounds - a sense of careful curation that permeates their output as a label and the events they organise. Hosting them is party/label/mix-series powerhouse Animalia, a fixture in Melbourne’s summer calendar and a longtime friend of the Swiss crew. An exercise in the labels’ synergy and friendship, the event promises to be a broad and intentional palate of moods for a one-of-a-kind Miscellania marathon. Things commence with a Saturday night program devoted to immersive live performances from Sina and Fia Fell, a special hybrid set between Tunisian artist Azu Tiwaline and Garçon, tied together with a DJ set from Zara. Reconvening for a proper Misc Sunday is an epic string of DJ appearances - kicking off with a second set, this one a rare dub set, by Garçon on the rooftop, followed by an all-out pivot in the main room starring Kia, Agonis and Kavil, and an extended finale from Vlada. An exercise in the labels’ synergy and friendship, the event promises to be a broad and intentional palate of moods for a one-of-a-kind Miscellania marathon.
