Armed with our magical camera, we explore the countryside and meet people who tell us about the forgotten ghosts, ghouls and demons who lie in wait ready to play tricks on us. These #yokai , or supernatural beings, are sometimes kind, sometimes mischievous, and sometimes downright dangerous. * Inspired by our life in Niigata, the book is entirely drawn in watercolor, like the sketches on location we made during our stays in #japan . ⭐️ Nichi Getsu - 10 histoires Après une publication au Japon en 2023, la version française de Nichi Getsu, publiée par @elytis.editions , est maintenant disponible dans toutes les bonnes librairies ! Nous avons adoré participer à ce recueil d’histoires courtes aux côtés d’artistes japonais et internationaux, un très beau projet initié par notre ami @mateusz_urbanowicz . Notre nouvelle de 16 pages, “Train de minuit” suit les pensées mélancoliques d’un jeune conducteur de bus dans la campagne japonaise. Avec un peu de recul, je vois cette histoire comme un hommage à “Train de nuit dans la Voie lactée” (Nokto de la Galaksia Fervojo - 銀河鉄道の夜), une nouvelle de Kenji Miyazawa (également adaptée en un magnifique long métrage animé) qui nous hante depuis qu’on l’a découverte quand on habitait à Niigata il y a presque 15 ans. Aussi, nous vous recommandons de lire notre histoire courte en écoutant la superbe bande originale du film, composée par Haruomi Hosono ou bien l’hommage composé par Joe Hisaishi (un très bel album que nous avons trouvé l’an dernier à Tokyo avec de magnifiques illustrations). Nous avons eu le plaisir de réaliser nos premières dédicaces de Nichi Getsu le week-end dernier à la belle librairie @librairielageolibri (à Darwin - Bordeaux) et au festival de Gradignan. On espère que cette nouvelle, (notre première et unique BD en noir et blanc au format manga) vous plaira ! Nous sommes très fiers d’avoir participé à ce projet aux côtés d’auteurs qu’on admire. Festival of Cherbourg with @cecilecorbel - Backstage Two weeks ago we were in Cherbourg for a book event to present our live drawing concert « L’heure bleue » with Cecile Corbel (singer and composer of the music of Arrietty from Ghibli). We really enjoyed this 3 days spent together with @scaby28160 . It’s always a magical experience to be on stage with professional musicians while painting. We’d like to thank all the team from @festivaldulivre_cherbourg and the technicians who really made a great job with the video settings during the show. We performed 3 concerts, signed books during 2 hours, walked along the beach, met great artists ( it was so nice to meet again @ewenblain and finally meet @cecile.becq ❤️)… Thank you everyone for coming!
