My debut EP INFINITY CLUB is out everywhere right now!!! RUN IT UP! From sitting in the role of DJ for so long to hesitantly making music I never thought I would get to a place in my own production, vocals, & song writing and truly believe in it enough to share. INFINITY CLUB is a EP but it's also a place I made up that is unconcerned with the triviality of our physical forms. It's where we all go when we close our eyes briefly in the darkness of the club. The way we consume music creates false boundaries of "genre" making you feel like you can't express multiple things which is even more played up for people who look like me... but I do this thing called whatever the fuck I want!! Lol THIS EP IS HEAVILY INSPIRED BY THE ENERGY OF WHERE I COME FROM 🇯🇲 BUT ITS ALSO ABOUT EVERYWHERE IM ABOUT TO GO!! I’ve never really “won” anything before and being an underground artist always feels like your accomplishments will be under documented. A type of lore (lol) that only the girls that get it 💅🏿will ever know lol. lol when I chaotically scream “ALL MUSIC IS BLACK MUSIC” it’s not in a simplistic or reductive sense. It’s not to diminish a history of collaboration across cultures but rather it’s meant as an assertion. In this moment of creative dispossession ( AI, exclusionary festival line ups, etc), it’s more important than ever to underscore and centre that *contemporary pop* and electronic music as we know it stems from unattributed and co-opted black musical forms.
