@gframsay & @cobysey: FLESH, WAX & GLASS II AT PAF OLOMOUC 2024 🔏📓 🗝 Last year, @gframsay presented his latest project at the PAF Olomouc festival—a live film titled 'Flesh, Wax & Glass I: Saturno's Dream', accompanied by a live soundtrack performed by @cobysey. The film explores the Vattienti flagellant rituals in Nocera Terinese and Verbicaro in Calabria, Southern Italy, focusing particularly on Saturno Maione, who tragically passed away a week after they filmed together. 🗝 This year, George F. Ramsay is set to premiere the second part of this collaborative film project: 'Flesh, Wax & Glass II: The Age of the Son'. Filmed earlier this year, again in Nocera Terinese, it continues to observe the blood rituals and documents a family's mourning process. The premiere will once again feature a live score by Coby Sey. 🗝 George Finlay Ramsay is a Scottish artist and volcano lover who works with poetry, rituals, and analogue filmmaking. In his enigmatic films, subversive characters create new realities, while we haunt our own ancestors. 🗝 Coby Sey is a London based composer, producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. His music production blends sampling, live instruments, and sound experimentation, drawing influences from hip-hop, noise, jazz, and grime. LOVE REGARDLESS Is a water prayer We wrote this song to call the water to the desert When @earthsonicproject commissioned me to do a track about the ecological impact on a land + it’s people, it was clear to me I had to work with Talitnnite Ouaouani who i had met few years back, an old Imzad master that lives in a village called Ina Barbar near Djanet on the Algerian side of the Sahara And i wanted my brother @cobysey to weave the Imzad and my vocals together what a deep journey this took us on.. Coby, thank u for adding your voice to it Few days after we submitted this song we received a video from my brother @bouba_tour showing me the rain in Djanet area- It hadn’t rain for so long.. On that same week, as i was looking for a title i received this receipt from @yasmeen_ghrawi delivering the title.. 📸 credit of coby & i by Ben Sey Others by bouba, me & yasmeen It’s yours now May this track find its way to your heart. On Thursday 21st November, as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, we are pleased to present GAISTER, a new encounter between soprano vocalist Olivia Salvadori (Tutto Questo Sentire), drummer and percussionist Akihide Monna (Bo Ningen), and songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Coby Sey. The concert will mark the release of their debut self-titled album through AD 93 on November 1st. Tickets are on sale now via the Kings Place website (link in bio).
