‼️DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT‼️ Stream the drama DIAL UP for FREE now on RISE FLIX! 🎬🍿 DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT: “A lot of my prior projects had been flashier things like music videos and commercials. As I head towards a narrative career,  I wanted to challenge myself keep the style of Dial Up simpler yet detailed and tell the story in a way that reminds me of 80s dramas.    The short is shot on 4 perf 35mm film. This choice was in ways a technical challenge, but really allowed us to create an intimate set and capture Michael Ridley’s performance as authentic as possible. We had all worked with film before but never on a production that was our own. The added focus it naturally brought to the crew helped us all strive for perfect takes every time we rolled the camera.”

DIAL UP TRAILER! @dialupmovie is out now on @riseflixofficial The idea was built upon a call I made to my car insurance and I needed help from a human, but was stuck with an automated voice. My grandma had recently passed and while I had this fake human voice assisting me, I thought “what if” she was on the other line, and it evolved from there. It feels we lack authentic human connection more ever today. @jackson.peckinpah and I teamed up to co-write this. We strived to find a unique connection between Joey and the voice while playing into the irony of the situation. Our character opens up to a random voice more than anyone in his real life, which feels on par with society’s relationship with tech. The only problem being: the account is in his ex-wife’s name. Tomorrow we are releasing my first project Ive directed on film. I decided Dial Up was the perfect story to shoot on this medium, and why not 4 perf 35mm shot beautifully by @tayleno . We had a tiny crew on this that all strived to execute perfection. Thank you to everyone who’s supported the project and bringing this to life. Eating some moto dirt with DP @rileydonavan for a new project that I’m beyond stoked to be directing

@maxxisbike Favorite moments! We plugged away at this project for awhile and challenged ourself to get the most excited angles possible like we always try. We had no set timeline and snagged shots over several days sporadically until I found what our version of perfection would be. 1. FPV. I lined this jump up and told @malinhiles to fly under me. This was the second take, I don’t think we could have gotten closer proximity. 2. The bead setting insert is one of my favorite shots we got in the garage. I slowly pump little bits of air while Taylen waited for the pop. A little luck on our side with the whip pan timing. 3. Hard mount/textures. We wanted a lot of these moments to feature the product in action and use them blend int/ext looks. 4. FPV underslung/hard mount. Malin skimming the dirt while I chase him down.
