“Ovaries. Talk about them” launches today and I am feeling overwhelmed with gratitude and support for the movement that @camillaandmarc have created around ovarian cancer awareness and research.

People are at the centre of all we do at @gyncancerresearch and the stories of these incredible women - Jennifer, Caitlin and Sue deserve our full attention and respect. Please watch.

@gracieotto @carliefowler and your teams - thank you for your care and vision in capturing and sharing these beautiful lives and stories. They are hard to watch but we should not turn away. This matters.

@camillafreemantopper @marcfreeman Thank you for your ongoing support for ovarian cancer research. Your unwavering commitment to changing the future for all people affected by ovarian cancer is remarkable and it is a privilege to partner with you.

To our brilliant team at @gyncancerresearch @unswmedicine - KEEP GOING. We are so close to the finish line. Kristina, Teagan, Bonnie, Tim, Ellen and the entire team - I am so proud of you.

For everyone supporting this important campaign - thank you ❤️

Always fun to be reminded of the books I read this year! So many surprises and beautiful writing in 2024. Some @stemministbookclub reads, lots of women and debut authors. Which ones have you read & loved? #bookstagram

Ovaries. Talk About Them. by CAMILLA AND MARC

Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynaecological cancer, yet there is still no early detection test.

With support of @camillaandmarc, funds raised through Ovaries. Talk About Them. and the generosity of the people who have donated blood, we have made significant progress in the development of this test.

Led by Dr. Kristina Warton, our scientists have created a 3-target biomarker signature from DNA released by ovarian tumours.

The early detection test needs to be highly sensitive and specific. Our team is working tirelessly to achieve this, ensuring the test is made with solid background knowledge of the female physiology.

To shop the Ovaries. Talk About Them. collection or donate, visit the campaign link in our bio.

The stats are getting worse. The time is now.

Ovaries. Talk About Them. by CAMILLA AND MARC

The early detection project funded by Ovaries. Talk About Them. has taken monumental steps forward with the creation of a unique 3-target signature that detects tiny amounts of ovarian tumour-specific DNA across all major subtypes.

Developed using advanced technology, we are taking even further action to ensure this test will be able to detect ovarian cancer at the crucial early stages.

We are validating our test in larger numbers of samples and determining how best to bring this test to the clinic as soon as possible.

Our progress in developing this test would not be possible without the unwavering support and generosity of the greater community. From @camillaandmarc, our donors, the wonderful people who donate blood samples, advocates, clinical staff, to the magnificent patients and their loved ones. We thank you!

By supercharging this cause, we are one step closer to making an early detection blood test a reality.

A rare opportunity to bring an anatomical model of the reproductive tract to parliament! Proud to celebrate 75 years of @unsw this week at an event at Australian Parliament House. Appreciated the opportunity to speak to politicians, diplomats and policy makers about the importance of funding research into #endometriosis #adenomyosis #menopause #ovariancancer & #endometrialcancer. Let’s all remember that “women’s health” is not just fertility and does not end mid-life. @gyncancerresearch

Still on a high after a once in a lifetime opportunity to interview the incredible @drjengunter about all things menstruation and menopause this week. Jen has a rare ability to clearly communicate complex medical topics with intelligence, warmth and humour. As you can see from the photos I had an absolute blast! Thank you to the team at @unswcentreforideas for supporting this conversation and to everyone that came along. The evening was recorded and a podcast will be available soon. 📷 Maria Boyadgis @unswmedicine @gyncancerresearch
