Looking back: “Initiation” by Encor Studio at Contlux Festival 2023 Conflux Festival is known for challenging its audiences with a boundary-pushing programme. Last year, Encor, an art studio led by Mirko Eremita, David Houncheringer, Valerio Spoletini, and Manuel Oberholzer, truly embodied this spirit during their performance at BRUTUS. Their kinetic piece, “Initiation,” featured a human-machine interface driven by officiants manipulating ancestral tools. The pendulum’s oscillation created a hypnotic state, seamlessly blending technology and tradition. More groundbreaking performances are set to follow at this year’s edition.
