🌟Showcasing Our Recent Graduates 🎓- our graduate Bea’s @lecreaturedibeatrice Trainee MUA Experience below 👇 Since graduating from CBMA in 2023 I’ve been looking out for jobs and opportunities like there’s no tomorrow: networking is a process, especially if you’re not the best at it like me. I found my job as a daily trainee on this wonderful team on Slow Horses by simply sending an email. Which is something that you never stop doing honestly! I saw on Instagram that the hair and makeup designer Lucy Sibbick was looking for a main team trainee and I, having no experience in main team but only in the Crowd thought “Why not sending an email anyway? I’ve nothing to lose”. After a couple of months, one of the Crowd Supervisors reached out, saying the designer herself passed her my details. They were looking for a trainee for 3 night shoots, and that’s how it started as they kept calling me back on big crowd days and even for smaller ones (even in main team sometimes, which was brilliant). I really enjoyed my time working on this production. I’ve met so many other talented artists and trainees that helped me throughout and made me laugh on very long tiring days. The amount of stuff I learned also are so many: from my perspective, there’s only a tiny amount of things you can learn and prepare for before getting into these kind of jobs, the rest you learn as you go. On a big production like this, the Crowd room can be chaotic some days but also there were so many times when I got to put my hands on SAs or help during the lineup, with just my set bag, which was just great! Learning how to cooperate with other departments also is a big thing, from the Costume department, ADs or PAs, their work is as essential as ours so being respectful of that is essential, plus, you never know who you’re going to be friends with or who is going to pass your details for the next job. #makeupartist #hairartist #trainee #makeupforfilmandtv #tvandfilm #CBMAgraduates #cbma #christineblundellmakeupacademy #christineblundell #slowhorses #appletv #garyoldman
