I worked in my mums dining room cutting hair (from 16 years old) for the 1st 6 years of my career - with out any hair education. I remember the 1st time I nervously went to the @mysassoonhair academy and watched the team there create hair magic... FINALLY I could see a light at the end of the tunnel, a long way away but it was there…it inspired me, motivated me, it set me on fire!!! 🔥 More recently I spent the week traveling around some of the Lee Stafford academy’s through-out the UK, demonstrating and coaching students, not only on Michelin star hair recipes but also sharing with them all I know about thriving in the hair industry…making it crystal clear to them that anything is possible, you can reach the top of the mountain, no matter where you come from or where you start...when the attitude is stella and there’s an abundance of passion, determination and love in what you do. . Well...I’de like to share with you a strategy, I know will immediately motivate you, make you feel more positive and put you in a happier space. 1st thing…write down all your goals and dreams, what ever you would love to achieve in your life, whether it be amazing relationships, a healthy fit body or a big career win…write them all down. 2nd…make a plan, a list of all the things you would need to do, the people you need to meet, the places you need to go to make those dreams and goals a reality. Lastly... break that list down into daily activities, put them in your dairy and work on them ALL…every single day… and you’ll thrive, be focused and energised… because now my friends ——- you’ll be on the road… with a map… heading towards your destinations 🌈 Happy Monday!!!

I am honoured to be invited to speak about investing in future talent at @creativeheadmag and #SalonSmart23 this Monday in London. Looking back when I had my salon I’n Essex (The House That Hair Built) it was common knowledge in our local community about the education and inspiration we gave our future talent…the results were plain to see everywhere by everyone, so much so that we had a filing cabinet full of young people’s details that wanted to come and work and train in our organisation and what that meant for the salon and the business...was that when one of our assistants/apprentices went from a 10/10 standard to a god for bid 7, we would show them that filing cabinet and they either went back up to a 10 or someone else took their place an opportunity.
