You may wonder…a WhatsApp group call out for help to finish a quilt, a beautiful encounter with Poppy ⭐️ Poppy’s mum started this traditional appliqué about 25 yrs ago and did not finish it… Poppy gave me the immense pressure & trust to finish her mum’s quilt… with one request… no cat around… the quilt Coucougne is not indulging on 🐈‍⬛😿, so it is taking a bit longer as I work outside my cave… Thank you @poppyclinton for the book well received, I now own 5 quilting books treasure … you are a 🌟! #appliquequilt #familyquilt #freemotionquilting

The future is bright with the leaders of tomorrow 🌍. Spent 3 days with this incredible bunch of young people… kind, smart, creative, supportive of each other.. we had 2 sewing machines & a pile of scraps.. they went into production marathon… planning together, helping each other… even let them use my Bernette B38 without help… told off grandma choosing their fabrics … and keeping on apologising for doing so, while grandma kept on thanking me for the told off.. I did not tell them about appliqué, drawing, playing… they did it naturally ⭐️🤩🤩🤩 Thank you @hypuhackney & @maxinescakes1 for pushing me to carry on the community gathering and being 100% supportive and on my case.,. #greatbritishquilter IG Challenge D4: Top tips 😅 Probably just for the few or myself … if you are sewing in a small space and live in a home with no heating ( welcome to new build) … never keep an electric heater under your feet… it melted my sewing machine foot pedal cable. I knew but I was cold 🥶…2 mins of inattention… could have been worst… ordered a new foot pedal .. cried and then remembered I was born in the 70s … and as kids we had no issues taping back electric cables.:. I have 2 foot pedals now, just one shorter⚡️ Thank you @suzanne.campion & @thatssewkerry for hosting.

#greatbritishquilter IG challenge 24 D3: Favourite Fabrics/Designers/Shop ⭐️ Has to be the fabrics designed by the team @labrumlondon A young, inspiring team 🏆. Designing & developing their own fabric over the years through their collection with values of common thread & connections between cultures. The Passport, Cowry shells or Nomoli prints… Passport collection ❤️💚 I am lucky enough to play with those fabrics , I fell into the magic potion 🪡😎and challenged to come out of my comfort zone of quilting friendly fabrics, bright Colours & florals prints ( which I could eat if only…)…and to be honest I am unable to choose fabrics.. Labrum just opened a shop next to the Mothership @libertyfabrics , so if you visit Liberty ( weekly at the moment for me but still only been to the fabric section..) why not check for yourself the amazing prints & work ⭐️⭐️⭐️.. I may be wearing my Arsenal shirt at FOQ because when the best teams meet …wear it with pride 😅 Probably the worst photos to show off these fabrics … sorry 💚 Thank you @suzanne.campion & @thatssewkerry for hosting.

Attended my 1st workshop to learn so much about curves & precise work.. I loved it but once home went back to my bad habits and jumped instructions.. so will finish but will also start a new one, once I have some good space & time.💚 2nd 📷. Current free motion to finish a special quilt made by someone’s mother… just finishing it for her daughter 3rd &4th: Hand sewing a quilt for over a year mainly while in festivals or clubs.. so I started to hand sew another one… 🙃 Then a Tee-shirt quilt & new project started during a video shoot for a doc about women’s contraception choices by @ritamariaconry And all the ones I don’t have pics for…. 🕊
