The sudden passing of Steve Mensch is a gut-wrenching tragedy – for his team at Tyler Perry Studios, for his colleagues across the Georgia film and business communities, for his friends, and especially his family. When I met with Steve recently at the studio, I was moved by his infectious passion for filmmaking, his tireless dedication to building an even more dynamic industry, and his unmatched belief in Georgia as a top destination for great storytelling. His career was a testament to visionary leadership, kindness, and innovative thinking, and I am grateful for his countless contributions to the creative economy. He was, quite simply, a consummate professional and a good man. On behalf of the Motion Picture Association, I send my heartfelt condolences to Steve’s wife Danila, his three children, and the world-class team he led at Tyler Perry Studios.

“Are you not entertained?!” The MPA and @paramountpics co-hosted an advance screening of @gladiatormovie where Paramount Global’s DeDe Lea joined us and shared her thoughts on this masterful film. In producing ‘Gladiator II,’ @paramountpics created an epic Roman tale by combining the strength of an American studio and an international cast with the skills of local crews in Morocco and Malta.

This week at the MPA, Jesse Eisenberg chatted with us about wearing many hats as actor, writer, producer, and director for his new film, A Real Pain.    Eisenberg talks about balancing humor and heartache in this deeply personal film about two mismatched cousins who tour Poland to honor their late grandmother and understand their shared family history.

‘A Real Pain’ is more than a heartfelt story—it’s an exploration of the human experience, a moving work of creativity, a love letter to Poland, a tribute to the history we carry, the memories we hold, and the family we build. We were honored to welcome the film’s writer, director, producer, and co-star, Jesse Eisenberg, to the MPA for a conversation with CNN’s @wolfblitzer to discuss the movie’s meaning and development, and the experience producing the film in Poland.
