A @worldchoreographyawards nomination for my own song has made me feel so seen by this community in ways I am still not sure how to wrap my mind around 😭🫀. Hok & I created this piece during a time when I was so afraid to SPEAK. Not only was I absolutely terrified of singing in-public, but the amount of SHAME I was holding onto through these words filled me with a debilitating fear to share art. Thank you @hok for believing in my voice & helping the heal with your support on this project. I cherish our friendship deeply ❤️‍🩹🙏. Each of these dancers is a master & an artist in their own right - but what made this piece truly unfold was not them being talented dancers supporting choreographers, but humans holding a safe space. First day of school 🥹. For the next 15 weeks, I’ll be on-faculty at AMDA College of Performing Arts to educate students on Heels technique, history, mindset, & performance 👠. I am so happy to have the opportunity to teach my ZTHEORY philosophy at a collegiate level in a way that can really prepare these dancers both mentally & physically for their futures in the industry, & further legitimize Heels as it’s OWN respected style! 💜 My dreams for this movement language are coming true & the growth this semester is about to be magical ✨🌸. #ZTHEORY #natalyaz #ztheoryla
