The one and only Paul Schrader from this week’s screening of MISHIMA: A LIFE IN FOUR CHAPTERS

Catherine Belkhodja, from Chris Marker’s fictional documentary LEVEL FIVE. Screening 5/21 @metrograph with Catherine in person to introduce.

In 1982, French New Wave filmmaker Chris Marker (SANS SOLEIL, LA JETÉE) traveled through Japan taking photos and writing his collection of essays Le Dépays. Now, for the first time in English, the book is being released alongside the images he captured. On 5/21 at @metrograph , we will be hosting a live reading of the essay, featuring musical accompaniment and big-screen projection of the photos, much like a Marker film. Link in bio for tix.
