Tea Pavilion Benches, 2024 On view in Miami for Design Miami Week with @room_file at @alcova.milano booth B204 12/02-12/08, 11am-7pm The Tea Pavilion Benches is a handcrafted piece that seamlessly combines solid wood, concrete, and steel, featuring details that embody the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and authenticity. Each component is meticulously joined using techniques inspired by traditional Japanese joinery. Further influenced by Juci, a traditional Chinese method of ceramic repair using metal staples, the benches are thoughtfully mended with steel at their ends, creating configurations that can form either an L-shaped arrangement or a long, linear seating composition.

Baby's first couch - 'Pebble couch' designed and BUILT / hand-made by me. First look at one of six original pieces for my project in the upcoming @gracelingofficial showroom. Coming soon. 🗡️ The approach to this couch / stone side tables was sculptural and intuitive. I built up each section, carved the cushions into these pebble-shapes, patterned and upholstered them. Thanks to @moomoomaw for making the leather slip covers based off of those patterns - that took a lot of attention to detail to fit since each unique shape is organic and non-symmetrical. More details of the rest of the project soon.
