What a way to start the week!
These thoughtful and wonderful reviews keep coming in for @lindasgrant’s THE STORY OF THE FOREST, including this one from @washingtonpost.
So delighted to see all the positive responses, to be included on lists for holiday books and of course thrilled to hear from so many readers who are loving this book! I couldn’t agree more!!!
As always available at your local independent bookseller and your local library!!
Hope it finds its way to your stack!
Happy reading!

So enormously honored to announce that our first vintage of Invivo X, SJP Pinot Noir from New Zealand has been included in @wine_spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2024 and has been awarded 90 points!
This is our third inclusion in the Top 100, and our first as a red wine blend.
This Pinot Noir’s raspberry, blueberry and maraschino cherry flavors mingle with notes of red licorice, blood orange, clove and green cardamom, backed by a hint of toasted green tea.
A bottle doesn’t last very long in my house.
Find a bottle of Invivo X, SJP Pinot Noir online at @wine_com @totalwine or head to Invivoxsjp.com to find your closest stockist.
Cheers!

There is a magical other world sitting right at 24 1st Avenue in NYC.
It is called @bungalowny and it is serving the most delectable and innovative Indian cuisine I have ever had.
It has been heralded with rapturous reviews, 3 stars from the @nytimes and lots of delirious chatter from foodies near and far but it is Michelin starred Chef Vikas Khanna who creates the journey through Indias 28 states with his extraordinary food, elegant and devoted attention to every single customer that makes time at his triumphant Bungalow a meal and experience so special. With beauty, grace and a love for his patrons he and his team will transport you for a couple of blissful hours.
Such a treat for me and my family. We hope, one day sooner than later to return.
Thank you Chef Vikas. And thank you @prabalgurung

I remember going to the polling place with my mother.
In 1972. That is the first election I truly recall.
I remember the cold late October days in the gaslight district in Cincinnati, our neighborhood called Clifton, knocking on doors. My mother encouraging our neighbors to vote. Some we knew, some we didn’t. I even remember, some neighbors plainly stating they were voting for “the other candidate”.
I never got the impression that bothered or dissuaded my mother from continuing her work. She just kept knocking on doors and driving Seniors to the polls. She just wanted to feel a sort of confidence that she had done all she could as a citizen. I suppose, equally importantly, to show her young daughters and sons what it meant to be civic minded, to be involved. To care. To vote. It must have meant especially a great deal to my mother as a woman.
I couldn’t wait to vote when I turned 18.
Gosh I labored over my primary vote. Took far too long before I pulled the lever. It just felt the most important decision in my young life. No one took a photo of me after that first vote.
But yesterday, my 15 year old daughter accompanied me to vote early.
She took the photos after.
That’s the same grin I wore after that first vote all those years ago.
That’s how it feels. Every single time.
Make a plan. Vote.
