I remember thinking how I would stand out in a sea full of talented makeup artists in #NYC. It was the only dream I had in mind. I needed to stand out and never knew how I would even try. So, I started doing my own thing. Taking time to skin prep models to look and feel there best. A lot of the times I’d get them fresh off a flight from Paris or Japan. And they were so tired and falling asleep. So I really took the prep serious and also gave them a little break which I know the appreciated beyond. But that appreciation was taken to another level over time. They started requesting me on editorials, and commercial jobs. And no matter what, I always took my time to prep. Sometimes to the hairstylist annoyance. I have always loved skin. Since I had acne growing up, perfecting it was always a goal. As I fast forward all our lives changed (Covid)And I got back on my feet and with makeup still going I branched out more to sculpt by invite only. I had tons of models, celebs, top editors and/but also had people trying to break me down, my dream of facial manipulation. And it took my former agent to say: Honestly,I think this cheapens your brand. And THAT, broke my heart. Cuz what was I thinking. I’ve done makeup for over 20years at this point, for covers and carpets and now I’m.. what? Or who? Well. I’m here to SHOWyou that I’m in the April issue of @elleusa . -top skin magicians in the.. WORLD. And there IS one flaw I know I have. I don’t know how to give up. You have to hold on tight to ur dreams. You can change and be whoever you want. Whenever you want. I believe in you. #915.

I’ve never heard of “The Facial Sculptor” or anyone recognized under that title in mainstream beauty. I accept it with pride and dedicate it to my dear friend and mentor,🕊️ @noyskincare 🕊️. The journey was difficult, and I often felt alone without anyone to talk to or lean on. Not even My agents (at the time) believed in me. If you know me..how I started, where I’m from, growing up in El Paso, Texas, you’d know I shouldn’t be where I am now. Ive never thought of myself as sexy, but I’ve always tried to be brave. And if you see this, I hope you realize bravery can make you feel powerful, maybe even a little sexy. Four years ago, I had a mental breakdown and decided to completely change my life for me. It might be silly, but it’s moments like being named one of People’s Sexiest that remind me how far I’ve come. Like… @people magazine knows who I am. This isn’t just an article for me(go read it!). It’s part of my journey of letting go of who I was and stepping into who I am now. It takes work to undo it all. So I’m just gonna be over here all… sexy. Don’t be all like,unsexy. For a long time, I’d been searching to feel important or valued by someone. I’ve never really had support from my parents or family growing up..and I always did everything alone. (The cello recitals were hard) This race, though, taught me something unexpected: I Am Important… to me. Every mile, every moment of showing up for myself, made me realize my own worth. It reminded me of how I built my career as a makeup artist and facial sculptor—teaching myself, practicing every day on friends, perfecting each technique. I didn’t have a guide or a mentor, just my belief in what I could create and who I could become. Just like training for the marathon, building my career took patience, resilience, and a deep faith in myself. Crossing that finish line wasn’t just about completing a marathon..it was a powerful reminder that I am enough, just as I am. And that feeling? That’s the foundation of everything I’ve created and everything still to come. I hope that seeing me do this inspires you to show up for yourself. #Fear has shown up plenty in my career. Every time I stepped into new territory. Whether it was working with a high-profile/high fashion client, mastering a new technique, or building something entirely my own…it was there, staring back at me. But instead of running from it, I learned to face it head on, making it push me forward rather than hold me back. Taking on this marathon felt the same. The fear was real, but I treated it like every other challenge I’ve faced: acknowledging it, taking a breath, and moving forward anyway.
