27 years ago today, on 7th November 1997, Filipino migrant worker Rosalito Carpio died. In his memory, our team is releasing the trailer for a film dedicated to his life and legacy. Bandit Bandit - “Pyromane” I’ve been involved before the shoot for this beautiful Music Video project. The goal was to figure out the best way to implement the VFX in the grade. Based on the creative intention of Kamir and Sam, I created a LUT that could help the VFX department to create flames for the project in a way that would meet the aesthetic preferences of the Director and DOP. Then in the grade, the flames implementation felt more organic and believable and met that richness in colour. The VFX dpt. was also involved during the shoot in order to maximise the results the team was looking for. We also went nuts on the B&W in the grade! Working on that adventure/commercial for @balticwatches was the opportunity to set maximum colour contrast and emphasise the dangerous and adventurous nature of ice climbing. The team’s challenge was about finding remaining cold places to film talented ice climbers despite the warmer conditions. In the grade, we focused on setting an icy blue world complemented by a very bold red to really make our subject stand out in that harsh environment. Contrast was also custom dialed to a filmy realm because it always looks so fucking good. And of course every watch dial in this spot was given some extra love.
